Jacklyn Bassanelli
Jacklyn Bassanelli completed a Graduate Diploma in Dramatic Arts (Animateuring) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2003. She has been a performer, writer, producer, animateur and dramaturge on various independent theatre productions over the last six years. She was the co-founder of independent theatre company Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre (2001). With this company she has written and performed in tonight i must be brave (WA Fringe Festival), performed in and dramaturged 4XBeckett (Store Room, 2002) and performed in the Black Swan of Trespass (Melbourne Fringe 2003, New York International Fringe Festival 2004).
Independently Jacklyn has produced, devised and performed in piccoli pezzi (little pieces) (2001), and written and produced A Red Gum. A Rock. A Duck .(1999) which received a Playworks Script Development Award and was workshopped at the Australian National Playwright's Conference (1999). She also received a mentorship to work with Margaret Cameron through Youth Performing Arts Australia (2002). For 2005, Jacklyn, with her new company - Spunk Collaborative - has received funding from the Australia Council and Myer Foundation to further develop and perform tonight i must be brave. She will also participate in the Next Wave Festival's Kickstart program developing a new work, Pink Denim in Manhattan .
